Gwledda
In 2022, the National Eisteddfod and Natural Resources Wales developed a partnership project that uses creative engagement to spotlight food production in Ceredigion, inviting experts to engage with local community growers in Ceredigion, educating them on environmental issues around growing food – discussing ideas creatively and empowering them to be innovative in their approach as a greener community long-term. This was a programme of community workshops for all ages, with artists, musicians, storytellers, offering a creative outlet allowing communities to share their stories and find their voices. Artists created an environment that’s engaging, friendly, fun and will be as creative as possible across the arts – developing special moments/performances for a showcase event at the Eisteddfod.
For Nature and Us, the project supported the developing themes of Nature and Us. The project also enabled all the partners to promote understanding of the ‘science’ underpinning the climate crisis in a Welsh-medium context, and to also learn from the creative and lived-experiences of a collaboration with Welsh-speaking and non-Welsh speaking communities.
